Jaime Jasso

Jaime Jasso was born in 1974 In Guadalajara in Mexico. Since he was kid he was always fascinated by sci-fi and art, starting in comic books and traditional painting techniques such as oil, pencil, air brush, inks, and later found out that the computer was the tool that best suited him. He tried it and of course fell in love with technology and how quickly he could get results with no stains on the floor or on his clothes. He found that in matte paintings and conceptual art a great field to develop into in the middle of the 90’s. He started to practice computer graphics and then started to learn the software. That’s how in 2001 he was co-founded as visual effects supervisor and art director of Metacube technology and entertainment. Also in 2001, he got a chance to learn from many talented people such as Craig Barron at Matte World Digital. These days he works at Blur Studios in Venice California where he is a Digital Matte artist and Scene Assembler. He has also recently done work on games such as Halo Wars and Prototype.

His main tools in software are Photoshop, which for him is the best and most fun program ever. For 3D his main tool is 3dsmax and he uses Terragen and Vue as well when he tries to get a custom landscape asset. He used Fusion and After Effects when he done his last composite. Jamie Jasso has a Mac which is his main computer for Photoshop just because he thinks adobe works better on Macs. He also has a PC for all of his 3D work and a Wacom tablet that is a must for him.
I really like Jamie Jasso’s work as he has taken part in games and movies that i have watched and played. The graphics in these are brilliant so he must be really talented in what he does.
